Reflection: After reading the preface of this story, I am very enthusiastic to start this story. I have heard of Ruby Bridges before, but have never delved into her story and the challenges of New Orleans revolving around their public school system. Since I am pursuing a career in elementary education, I think it is important for me to understand the story of William Frantz Public School and the events surrounding it. As a future educator I intend to use the knowledge I gain from not only this course, but from all of my courses, so I can be an advocate for all of my students and break down any social barriers that may be in their way. With this said, I am excited to learn more about the William Frantz Public School and Ruby Bridges story, in the upcoming chapters.
